Nathalie is ARCA's officer responsible for field survey and desk-based assessments. Nathalie graduated with a BA in Archaeology from King Alfred's College, Winchester in 2002 and completed an MA in Landscape Archaeology at the University of Bristol in 2004.
Commercial archaeology
Nathalie worked for Wessex Archaeology as a Site Assistant during her studies until she undertook a student placement with the English Heritage Archaeological Survey team in Exeter. She subsequently applied for the first English Heritage EPPIC scheme (Professional Placement in Conservation) and was placed with the Archaeological Investigation team in Cambridge (2003-4) receiving training in field survey, analysis and interpretation. She then became Archaeological Surveyor at Pre-Construct Archaeology, London until 2006 and has since been working as a freelance Archaeological Surveyor and Landscape Archaeologist. She has worked for a variety of commercial units and consultants providing control and recording of archaeological interventions, analytical field survey and interpretation including walkover and earthwork surveys, desk-based and landscape assessments and graphics.
Research Interests
Nathalie is currently a part-time PhD research student at Winchester: her research topic is Coastal Promontory Forts: Landscape and Continuity. Her research interests include Landscape Archaeology and Survey and Prospection techniques.
