David joined ARCA in 2012 as a research assistant after completing his BA in Archaeological
Practice at the University of Winchester in 2011. He has also completed an MRes.
 
Commercial archaeology
 
David has previously undertaken commercial archaeological work with both Oxford Archaeology and Pre-Construct Archaeology, and has worked for several seasons on research excavations with the Vindolanda Trust, Northumberland, University of Oxford at Marcham and Frillford, and as a Site Supervisor on the University of Winchester excavations at St Mary Magdalen leper hospital, Winchester.
 
Research Interests

David is the director of the Stanford Vale Archaeological Research Project. David has published a number of articles in the South Midlands Archaeological Journal. In 2014 David began his PhD research on the development and abandonment of Medieval settlements in Oxfordshire.
