Richard Payne BSc MSc
Richard
is a geoarchaeologist specialising in sediment and stratigraphic
analyses. He graduated from the University of Hull in 2002 with
a BSc in Environmental Science and went on to complete the MSc
Geoarchaeology from the University of Reading in 2003. Following
this he worked for five years as a geoarchaeologist and archaeologist
firstly at Terra Nova in Brecon, then for Cotswold Archaeology
in Cirencester and finally for the Avon Archaeological Unit
in Bristol.
Current Research
Richard is currently researching
his PhD on 'Geaorchaeological modelling of stratigraphy in
Winchester', a project that is supervised by Dr Keith Wilkinson
and Professor Tony King. Richard is a keen scuba diver and
diving instructor, and is away diving most weekends throughout
the year both in the UK and abroad.
